3 Non-Surgical Ways To Tackle Your Problem Areas

When you lose weight, one of the unfortunate realities is that you cannot spot reduce and control which areas lose more fat. However, this does not mean that you can't take steps to re-sculpt your body. Here are three tips to help you tackle your problem areas. 

1. Add Weights to Your Exercise Routine

If you don't already lift weights, it is time to add them to your exercise routine. Though weights won't let you spot reduce, they will help you increase your muscle mass and retain the muscle that you already have.

Areas of the body with more muscle appear more taunt and toned, giving you the sleek appearance you desire. Some individuals also find that adding muscle mass to certain portions of the body increases their satisfaction with their problem areas. For example, if you have full hips that you dislike, building your shoulder muscles can give your body a more balanced appearance, making your hips appear less large.

Consider lifting weights three to four times a week for 30 minutes each session.

2. Invest in a Coolsculpting Procedure

Coolsculpting is a non-surgical way to reduce the amount of fat that you have in certain areas of the body. During your Coolsculpting procedure, your technician will freeze the fat cells in the area that you want to slim down. These fat cells will then die, and your other cells will absorb them, removing them from your body.

The number of Coolsculpting treatments that you need depends on your desired results. Some patients only need a single treatment, while others require multiple treatments. Your Coolsculpting technician can help you formulate a plan that will fulfill your expectations. 

Know that results from a Coolsculpting treatment are not immediate. It takes time for the fat cells to die and exit the body. Many patients see results within a couple weeks, but it can take a couple months to fully experience the effects of your Coolsculpting treatments.

3. Remove Items From Your Diet That Cause Bloating or Fluid Retention

You may notice that certain areas of your body, such as your stomach and legs, appear larger after you eat certain types of food. If these areas are your problem spots, improve their appearance by changing your diet.

Some people experience abdominal bloating after consuming specific foods, such as wheat and dairy. Others experience fluid retention throughout the body when they eat foods high sodium. Consider eliminating or reducing food items that cause you to experience bloating or swelling.
